🌱 City Auditorium Renovation Update +CSFD Lifts Burn Restriction

Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. After eight months of stagnation, the Community Cultural Collective announced some movement in renovating the City Auditorium. The collective has raised $5 million in funds, with an additional $3 million pledged by the city and El Paso County. Organizers are looking to raise additional funds at the federal level. (KRDO)
  2. Colorado Springs Fire Department has lifted a burn restriction that has been in effect since September of 2021. According to officials with the department, the restriction has been lifted due to additional moisture in the air reducing vegetation ignition possibilities. The department wants residents to still practice extreme caution. (KOAA.com Colorado Springs and Pueblo News)
  3. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, officials are reminding Colorado Springs residents to remain vigilant about cybersecurity. The United States imposed sanctions on Russia in response to the unprovoked invasion which has led the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to voice concerns about possible threats. Governor Jared Polis has issued sanctions against Russia as well, which might make Colorado a bigger target. (KRDO)
