Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:

  1. A pedestrian is recovering at a local hospital after hit and run collision. A driver fled the scene after sending an unidentified male to the hospital on Sunday morning, according to the Colorado Spring Police Department. Officers responded to the incident at the intersection of Astrozon Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive. No arrests have been and police do not have a vehicle description. (Colorado Springs Gazette)
  2. Sunday night saw several robberies across the Colorado Springs area. The Colorado Springs Police Department is currently investigating three robberies that happened within an hour, according to investigators. All three robberies were to local businesses and reports indicate the robber was armed. It is unclear if the robberies are all linked currently. (KKTV 11 News)
  3. Colorado Springs officials met to discuss issues impacting the safety of our community. The safety forum discussed issues such as homicide rates, illegal drugs, and homelessness. Outgoing Colorado Springs Police Chief Vince Niski was among the panel that included the 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen and Colorado Springs City Council President Tom Strand.
