- The Colorado Springs Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at Sienna Place Apartments on Friday. According to reports, multiple crews arrived at the scene and were able to extinguish the fire that was contained within one apartment's kitchen. No injuries were reported during the fire. - In response to the increased demand for housing across the Colorado Springs region, Titan Development plans to build 300 apartments near Chapel Hills Drive and Research Parkway. Opposition to the new development has been voiced by the residents of the neighboring Summerfield area. The Summerfield residents claim that the new development would bring an additional six hundred people to the area contributing to the traffic congestion and noise which might lower their property values. - The City of Colorado Springs is looking for artists to create a new permanent art feature at Panorama Park. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is conducting the search for the artwork that would be incorporated into the new park's design. The decision will be determined by two panels consisting of members from the local art community and from the southeast community who will be patrons of the new park. (Press Release Desk)
