Here are the top three stories today in Colorado Springs:
- The Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of South Chelton Road. The department reports that two men fired at an occupied apartment on Saturday. Thankfully, nobody was injured. Anyone with information related to the shooting is being asked to contact the department at 719-444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP. (KKTV)
- The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region reports that it helped reunite 4,559 lost pets with their families last year. The majority of those lost pets were reportedly dogs. - Colorado Governor Jared Polis visited Colorado Springs on Friday to discuss wildfire matters. The visit was scheduled during a time when Colorado Springs is experiencing a period of extreme wildfire danger. According to the El Paso County Fire Department, the biggest priority in a wildfire is evacuating residents in a safe fast manner. (KRDO)
