Doughnut Shop Shooting: 1 Dead, Woman Arrested, Denver Police Say
Brittany Lyons, 25, allegedly shot a man to death in a doughnut shop parking lot in front of a child, a police report says.

DENVER, CO – UPDATE: The Denver medical examiner identified the man fatally shot in a Denver doughnut shop parking lot Monday as Joshua Calliston, 27.
Denver police arrested Brittany Lyons, 25, in connection with the incident, which happened around 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of LaMar's Donuts and Coffee at 990 W. 9th Ave. A child of unspecified age was present at the shooting, a police report shows.

Lyons is facing charges of second-degree murder, police said.
The doughnut shop opens at 4 a.m., but an early-morning employee of the store called police reporting a woman and a child in front of the shop and a man "down on the ground outside of the store," police said in an arrest affidavit.

Police arrived and found the wounded man on the ground and Lyons in possession of a 9 mm handgun that had been "stovepiped" or jammed, police said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. They did not identify the shooting victim.
Police interviewed Lyons who waived her Miranda rights, the arrest affidavit said. Police did not give a motive for the shooting.
"The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation," police said.
