Man In Custody After Officers, Civilian Injured In Hit-And-Run

A man has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in Denver that left three officers and a bystander seriously injured.

DENVER, CO — A man is in custody after three Denver police officers and a bystander were severely injured in a hit-and run Saturday night, police said.

It's unclear whether the crash is connected with the George Floyd protests in downtown Denver.

The hit-and-run occurred near Logan Street and 16th Avenue, ABC7 reported.

Two of the officers were released Sunday morning from the hospital, police said. The third officer remains hospitalized, but he's expected to make a full recovery, Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen said during a news conference Sunday.

Pazen urged anyone with information about the hit-and-run to come forward, and nearly two hours later, the department announced that a man was in custody.

"A person and vehicle of interest in this case have been located," Denver police said in a tweet Sunday afternoon. "No other suspects are being sought at this time."

The identity of the man in custody has not been released.
