DENVER, CO — The warm weather has finally arrived in Denver and there are plenty of local summer events to put on your calendar.

Having fun in Denver doesn't have to break the bank — some of the most exciting local events are free.

Besides plenty of farmers markets and free outdoor movies, Denver hosts some of the best summer festivals and events in the state.

Here are five free Denver events you won't want to miss:

Denver's 4th Of July Fireworks - July 3 at Civic Center Park. Colorado's largest free community Independence Eve fireworks event is returning for its 10th anniversary with live music, food trucks and craft beer bars.

Cherry Creek Arts Festival - July 5 to July 7 at Cherry Creek North. The free festival celebrates the city's visual, performing and culinary arts with music, dance, theater, fine cuisine samples and cooking demonstrations.

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival- July 27 and July 28 at Sloan's Lake Park. The family-friendly festival celebrates Colorado's Asian Pacific American culture will feature cultural performances, shopping, dining and of course the popular dragon boat racing.

Denver International Festival - Aug. 3 at Civic Center Park. Traditional food, music and art from dozens of cultures around the world will be showcased at this free event.

A Taste of Colorado - Aug. 31 to Sept. 2 at Civic Center Park. More than 50 restaurants and 250 vendors will showcase some of the most delicious food and products in the state. The free event will include six stages of entertainment.
