New online parking dispute system launches in Denver with more options for drivers (denver7.com) — If you get a parking ticket in Denver, you can once again dispute it online starting Monday through denvergov.org/parking, instead of going in person. The city is also adding a three-hour paid parking option downtown, in LoHi and along Broadway via the Pay by Phone app, giving Denver drivers more flexibility and time at the meter.
2. Man sentenced to life in prison for fatal Denver Union Station shooting (denvergazette.com) — A man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing 19-year-old Ileanna Hernandez during a shooting at Denver Union Station, bringing closure to a high‑profile case rooted in a busy transit hub many residents use. Prosecutors say security video captured the altercation that led to the fatal shot, and Denver's district attorney emphasized that while justice was served, the community still mourns Hernandez's loss.
3. CBS Colorado reports Denver Board of Ethics will investigate two complaints against City Attorney Miko Brown (thecherrycreeknews.com) — Denver residents should know that the city's Board of Ethics has opened a formal investigation into two complaints alleging City Attorney Miko Brown may have steered legal work to her former Denver law firm. Brown and city officials strongly deny the accusations, and the board will now gather evidence, consider conflicts-of-interest questions, and decide whether any part of the Denver Code of Ethics was violated.
4. Denver area life support recipients reunite with teams who saved their lives (cbsnews.com) — ECMO survivors from Denver and Littleton recently gathered at an AdventHealth picnic to reunite with the doctors and nurses who supported them through life-threatening heart or lung failure. Patients and families shared gratitude, and organizers plan to launch a support group so current and former ECMO patients in the Denver area can stay connected and find ongoing encouragement.
