π± Another Bike Rider Killed + Coliseum Warming Station + Arctic Cold
The quickest way to get caught up on the important things happening in Denver today.

Hello all. It's me, Brad K. Evans, your host of the Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening in town, including:
- Colorado Boulevard is no longer a place that's safe for pedestrians.
- Denver Coliseum to be used as warming station as cold weather heads toward Denver.
- Another bicyclist killed in Denver. This time at 35th and Federal.
Tuesday's weather: Partly sunny. High: 49 Low: 26.
Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- Colorado Boulevard used to be a pedestrian "paradise," now it's considered a nightmare. Cars and trucks roar up and down lanes of traffic every day. In many instances sidewalks are narrow and, in some places, non-existent. (Denverite)
- Denver to use coliseum as emergency shelter as arctic cold heads toward the state. Beginning Wednesday, the City of Denver will use the Denver Coliseum as a 24-hour warming center for anyone that needs a warm place to stay. (9News)
- Another bicyclist killed in crash with vehicle. A woman riding her bicycle near 35th and Federal was killed on Sunday afternoon. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation. (9News)
- City Council candidate Leslie Twarogowski switches from At-Large to District 8. In a move that some say will shake up the District 8 race, Twarogowski decides to shift from a citywide race to a district race in east Denver, which includes Park Hill Golf Course and Central Park. (Denverite)
- Colorado had one of the highest voter turnouts in U.S. last November. According to the Colorado's Secretary of State, Colorado had one of the highest voter turnouts in the 2022 midterm elections. Of those registered to vote, 58.5 percent in the state voted, compared to the national average of 46.8%. A large majority of those were mail ballots. (CO Newsline)
