Aurora Morning Rush-Hour Shooting: Suspect Identified By Police
Joseph Lugo, 39, was identified as a person of interest in the shooting that put Gateway High School on lockdown Tuesday morning.

AURORA, CO -- Aurora police identified a person of interest in the double shooting Tuesday morning that left a 21-year-old man dead and injured another. Joseph Goudy Lugo, 39, is sought on charges of first degree murder for shooting two victims outside of an apartment building in the 1000 block of South Evanston Way, around 8:15 a.m. During the investigation, Gateway High School was placed on lockdown.
The Arapahoe county Coroner's office identified the shooting vicim as Potros Mabany. Another man was shot, but escaped to a nearby 7-Eleven and was taken to a local hospital.
Lugo was described by police as 5'9" tall and 245 lbs., with long black hair, brown eyes, a tattoo of a name on the left front of his forehead and smaller tattoos (also names) on his left and right temples.

"Lugo should be considered armed and incredibly dangerous," a statement from police said. "If any member of the public sees Lugo, please call 911 immediately and do not approach him.
"We depend on the Aurora community to be an integral part of combating crime, as the community employs thousands of eyes and ears that are not those of police officers."
