Here are the top stories today in Denver:

  1. Denver millennials helped fuel the city's growth. According to research from the U.S. Census Bureau, 71 percent of the millennials who lived in Denver at age 16, stuck around or returned to Denver by age 26. (Axios)
  2. 90,000 Denver Public School students returned to school yesterday. DPS welcomed back students from nearly 200 schools for the first day of the fall semester. This is the first year since the start of the pandemic that students have returned to in-person learning without needing masks. (KUSA)
  3. The Housing Choice Voucher lottery has opened for applications. Those seeking Section 8 vouchers for housing in Denver can apply through Denver Housing Authority. There's usually a huge number of applications, and a small supply of available vouchers. (303)
