The Big Apple also finished in the top spot for most costume and candy stores per capita. Denver took home the unfortunate last place position for the worst projected weather forecast on Halloween.

The list compared 100 of the largest cities in the United States across 21 key metrics of Halloween friendliness, ranging from the number of potential trick-or-treating spots, to the number of Halloween stores per capita, to the forecasted levels of rain on Oct. 31.

Each relevant metric was listed with its corresponding weight and the cities were subsequently graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the maximum Halloween experience.

For people on the quest for the perfect pumpkin themed holiday, Birmingham, Alabama, isn’t the place for you. The city finished dead-last in the rankings, with Memphis and Baton Rouge rounding out the bottom three.
