Here are the top stories in Denver today:

  1. Golden Triangle's Cadillac Lofts to receive historic designation. A loft project converted from Cadillac dealership in the Golden Triangle has been approved by Denver City Council to be historically designated, assuring its preservation. (Denverite)
  2. Denver Regional Council of Governments said it's dropping I-25 and C-470 funding for expansions for a more climate-minded transportation future. After dumping billions into a transportation system that favors Single Occupant Vehicles (SOV), the DRCOG is shifting its focus away from road expansions and toward public transit, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. (CPR)
  3. Chicano mural has been preserved. Artist David Ocelotl Garcia discovered a technique that would allow the primer to be removed and not damage the original mural. (9News)
  4. Man who survived tough times is giving back. Frank Ewert knows exactly what the people he helps when he volunteers at We Don't Waste are going through. He was once on the other side of needing the services provided by WDW. (7News)
  5. After a wildfire, a little rain doesn't hurt. A wildfire ravaged nearly half of the acreage at the May Ranch near Lamar, CO last April. By August, this year's monsoons have transformed the burned patch into a vibrant green landscape. (CO Sun)
