Subj: Good News Update Announcement #6 (Part 2 of 2); GWHS Reunion Weekend May 22-24: Free Fun Pickleball and Pizza May 22 4-8PM, 36 Free 2-night Hotel Rooms May 22-24 For Out-of-town Reunion Attendees, and More

Dear GW alumni,
Assorted good news, as we’re counting down just one-week to our celeratory intimate gathering of die-hard GWHS alumni “patriots.”
Wow, how lucky are we?! Free of charge, all are invited to come play, learn and experience why Pickelball is the world-wide phenomenon fastest-growing sport in history; if you can throw underhand a light plastic ball, you can go out and start having fun on Day 1 with nearly no strain on protesting aging body joints. Kudos and BIG THANKS to “Stormin’ Norman” Smith for graciously volunteering to host a Pickelball Social Mixer welcoming all to come learn, play and laugh Friday May 22 3:45-6:00 at the nationally-renown Gates Tennis Center (3300 E. Bayaud Ave., Denver 80209, 303/255-4461). As his gift, Norm is generously paying for all court fees, rental of paddles and balls. Spectators enthusiastically welcome. Immediately followed by 6:00-~8:00 pizza 🍕 and good cheer at nearby restaurant. No need to RSVP, just show-up ~3:45 with non-black-soled “tennis” shoes and smiles. Folks with questions should contact Norm Smith at ___/___-_____. Folks, if you’ve never played Pickleball, this is a great opportunity to get your first fun and memorable introduction to this great game. [FYI, still standing at 6’3” and uncanny lightening-fast coordination, Norm Smith was our former HS 3-year #1 Singles Tennis Team Captain, multiple All State Player who to this day is a veritable living legend by those of us who remember that he still holds the best 3-set Undefeated Consecutive Win Record in Colorado junior tennis history; inducted in 2025 into the Texas HS Tennis Coaches Hall of Fame for producing crazy number of Championship Boys and Girls State Championship teams; winner of numerous individual and doubles tennis championships; quite possibly the most successful athlete from GWHS Class of 1976; and one heck of kind fun gentleman.]
