Nkollectiv at 3485 S. Broadway is proud to feature an exhibition by Lyndy Bush and Will Thompson entitled “Memories: Windows into Home and Heart”, on view July 31 – Aug 30, 2026. With a look into their past to find the moments that shaped them, each artist’s paintings reflect their personal observations and distinct style.

Bush’s series of paintings is an invitation to discover her Southwestern story through memory, oil and light, documenting literal and figurative windows into the “modern” Southwest that she finds beautiful and meaningful. She explains that she is exploring more personal and sentimental subjects: “I decided to lean in and paint some of the most meaningful windows into my story; key locations from my life and family history. It’s often un-idealistic, mundane, weathered, and somehow stunningly beautiful.”

Thompson’s work is rooted in Western themes and abstract figuratism. Inspired by his vibrant childhood and coming of age in the West, his new collection captures the flexibility of memory and the impact small moments have. “Using acrylics, oil pastels, and oil sticks, I put form and color onto these memories,” says Thompson. “I want the viewer to find what is universal about each piece and where their version of home can be found.”
