First Friday Art Walk - September 4, 5–9 p.m.

Explore the show during the adjusted gallery hours during construction on Santa Fe Drive. Until further the notice, the gallery will be open 3 days a week— Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.– 5 p.m, and Sunday Noon – 4 p.m., including First and Third Friday Art Walks. Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood as well as in the lot to the South of the building, accessible from the alley.

Phillips begins her pieces with a strict pattern and a palette of hand-dyed fabrics that suggests a direction. From there, she uses thread and paint as tools for layering, embellishing, and transforming.

Phillips is a Colorado artist with a passion for fabric and printmaking. She started working with fabric as a young girl, learning to sew with her mother, an accomplished seamstress and designer. While obtaining her degree in Fine Arts at Colorado State University, Phillips found new ways to create her own fabric by incorporating dying and printmaking techniques. She uses those in her art quilts interplaying stitching, paint and embroidery within her designs. Her unique work has been shown in numerous juried exhibitions, office buildings and galleries throughout the country.
