🌱 CDOT Delivers Park On Top Of Highway + Bloom Helps Land Coach Prime

The quickest way to get caught up on the important things happening in Denver today.

(PatchMedia)

Hello all. It's me, Brad K. Evans, your host of the Denver Daily. Here are all the most important things to know about what's happening locally. Today's briefing includes:

  • CU Alum, Jeremy Bloom, helped bring Coach Prime to Boulder.
  • December snowfall a lot less in December than you would imagine.
  • Neighbors of the park on top of I-70 not that impressed with the final product.

Tuesday's weather: Mainly cloudy. High: 52 Low: 26.

Here are the top stories in Denver today:

  1. Metro Denver's annual December snow over the past five years lags behind average. The month you would expect to be the snowiest in Colorado, turns out, at least for the past five years, has been not so snowy. With a historic average of 8 inches for the month, some years since 2018, there's been almost no snow during the month of December. (FOX31)
  2. Former CU football star, Jeremy Bloom, worked behind the scenes to bring Sanders to the Buffs. The CU Buffalo alumni, receiver and returner in the 2000s, says his pursuit of Coach Prime started shortly after CU fired head coach Karl Dorrell. (TMZ)
  3. Automatic recount triggered in Boebert-Frisch U.S. District 3 House race. Colorado's Secretary of State office has formally ordered a legally required recount of the November results for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District race between Republican Lorna Boebert and Democrat Adam Frisch because the vote margin is less than .05 percent. Only 550 votes separate the candidates. (Patch)
  4. Colorado wants to import cheaper drugs from Canada. Colorado leaders have submitted a proposal to the FDA that would allow the state to import prescription drugs from Canada.
Gov. Jared Polis's office indicated that if the plan were to be approved, the average savings could add up to 65 percent. (KDVR)
  5. GES Neighbors not excited about the new park atop I-70. The park that sits atop the nearly complete Central 70 project is now complete, but neighbors that attended the grand opening of the park last Saturday, were less than impressed by the final product. (Patch)
