Here are the top stories in Denver today:

  1. Hit-and-run driver sought after hitting cyclist. Denver Police are searching for the driver of an orange or red Chevrolet Trax that was involved in a hit-and-run accident that caused serious injuries to a cyclist on Feb. 11 in the Five Points neighborhood. (KDVR)
  2. Plans for the White Swan motel in Lakewood include the purchase of the Loveland House. The Loveland House is one of the oldest homes in what is now Lakewood — named after the famous railway executive William A.H. Loveland, has been neglected for decades. The property is set to undergo a transformation thanks to Lauren Coleman, the proprietor of the neighboring, soon to be renovated, White Swan Motel located at 6060 West Colfax. (Westword)
  3. Metro State University is working to create balance with evolving AI technology. MSU Denver is grappling with the delicate balance between promoting academic integrity and fostering innovation. To address the issue, the university is launching a series of discussions, commencing with "AI and the Future of the Academy" on Feb. 28. (RED.)
  4. CDOT has already spent nearly $68 million plowing roads across the state this winter. Snowplows have been extremely busy this winter due to a higher amount of snowfall in December and January than normal. So far, this winter recorded snowfall levels that match or exceed some of the busiest years, with a nearly 250 percent increase compared to typical snowfall at this time of year. (FOX31)
  5. Additional suspects sought following another assault on RTD's W Line. Following the third recorded attack on RTD's W Line in the last three months, police are searching for additional suspects. Security footage provided by RTD shows a passenger being assaulted by a group of four individuals at Federal and Decatur on Jan. 31. (Patch)
