Chinese New Year Celebration Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Risk
The celebration at the Denver Chinese School was expected to be one of the largest in Colorado.

DENVER, CO — The Denver Chinese School has cancelled its Colorado Chinese New Year celebration this weekend due to increased coronavirus risk in the United States. Event organizers posted the cancellation notice on the celebration's Eventbrite page, calling it an "extremely difficult decision."
"Hundreds of performers and volunteers have been working diligently in the past few months for this event," the notice reads. "But the health and safety of our beloved guests, attendees, and crew has the highest priority to us."
The cancellation comes one day after Colorado health officials said they are investigating a possible case of novel coronavirus in a patient at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood.
