Colorado legislature protects our Prescription Drug Affordability Board
Reversing the success of PDAB would only increase the cost of prescription drugs
As an entrepreneur, I know first-hand the burden that prescription drug costs can place on a business. Both one of my employees, one of my dependents and I rely on monthly medications. Since Colorado established a Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) that has recently established Upper Payment Limits on certain drugs, I’m optimistic that it will continue to bring prices down.
That’s why I opposed SB26-140. This legislation would prevent Colorado’s PDAB from reviewing the cost of hundreds of commonly prescribed medications that Coloradans struggle to afford every day. Our PDAB is a leader in addressing skyrocketing prescription drug costs and reversing its success would only drive up costs.
At a time when rising costs are squeezing Colorado small business owners and our employees, we can’t afford to let prices on life-saving medications become increasingly unaffordable. I’m grateful that Colorado policymakers opposed this bill to protect our small business community.
