Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- Getting a small ski area's lift restarted in southern Colorado rests on one final permit. Cuchara Mountain Park's supporting nonprofit, Panadero Ski Corporation has been working to fund and fix a 40-year-old ski lift on the mountain, and says it needs one last permit to turn it on. (Gazette)
- Over the past year, Denver has only created around 900 affordable housing units. Despite having a massive $220 million dollar budget for 2022 alone, the Department of Housing Stability (HOST) over the course of the past year, has only been able to deliver less than 1,000 units. This in the face of a 65,000+ shortage of affordable units. (Denverite)
- Aurora's proposal for the unhoused moves forward. The Aurora City Council passed a plan that would see the creation of a campus of resources for those build a new campus filled with resources for people experiencing homelessness in Aurora. (9News)
- Colfax BRT plan inches forward. The City of Denver is hoping to move its long-planned Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system on Colfax to the top of its transportation list. (Denverite)
- Boy who saved friends at Crystal Lake, dies. Three middle school-aged children had fallen through the ice last Wednesday, and the boy that helped get them out has died after falling though the ice himself. (FOX31)
