Denver Among U.S. Cities With The Most Women Earning 6 Figures

DENVER, CO — A new study analyzed the top cities in the nation for female high-income earners — those who earn at least $100,000. There are around 5.43 million full-time working women in the U.S. who earn six figures, according to the most recent Census estimates from 2018.

Out of 100 cities, Denver was ranked No. 18, and Aurora was ranked No. 17, according to a SmartAsset analysis. The study used two metrics: the percentage of women who earn six figures and the percentage of all six-figure earners who are women.

Denver tied with three other cities:

• Chandler, Arizona
• San Diego, California
• Durham, North Carolina

The opportunity to attain higher salaries affects not only women’s ability to spend and budget in the short term, but also achieve long-term financial goals, such as investing in property and saving for retirement.
