Denver Explosion: Van Filled With Flammable Tanks Catches Fire
The driver of a van carrying tanks of flammable gases was injured in an accident in Denver.

DENVER, CO – The driver of a van carrying tanks of flammable materials was seriously injured in a Denver accident Thursday. Denver Fire responded to a series of explosions near South Gilpin Street and East Alameda Avenue around 5:00 p.m.
Fire spokesman Greg Pixley told 9NEWS the "driver noticed a leak and was getting out when the van first caught fire." Tanks of propane, freon and acetylene exploded in the van, injuring the driver, who was taken to a local hospital.
Police diverted traffic from the area Thursday evening.

DFD extinguished a van fire at Gilpin & Alameda after a number of explosions were created from the Propane, Freon & Acetylene tanks being transported inside.
