Denver Nuggets Organization Member Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A "member of the Denver Nuggets organization" tested positive for the new coronavirus, the team confirmed.

DENVER, CO — The Denver Nuggets have confirmed that a member of their organization has tested positive for the new coronavirus. The person was tested Monday after experiencing symptoms, the team said.

The patient is "under the care of team medical staff and in self-isolation," the team said in a statement.

"The testing was undertaken following guidance from state public health officials and team physicians," the statement read. "The health and safety of our players, the organization, those throughout our league, and all those potentially impacted by this situation is paramount."

The Nuggets did not confirm the role the person has in their organization.

The team said it "will continue to work in coordination with team physicians, public health officials and infections disease experts, while focusing on the health and safety of everyone in [its] community."
