Denver Parade Of Lights 2019: Parade Route, Schedule, Closures
The parade will feature giant helium-filled character balloons, marching bands, traditional equestrian units and cultural performances.
DENVER, CO — For decades, Denver's annual Parade of Lights has brought thousands out to celebrate the holiday season. This year's parade will feature six high school marching bands, illuminated floats and of course, a special appearance by Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa.
The 9News Parade of Lights will begin at 8 p.m. this Friday and again at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The parade is free, however grandstand tickets can be purchased for $19 for adults and $16 for children under 12.

Parade Route
The two-mile parade route begins at 14th Avenue and Bannock Street, crosses Colfax Avenue, travels west on 14th Street, turns right on Tremont Place and goes three blocks to 17th Street. The parade then travels down 17th Street on Arapahoe Street and turns left, making another left turn on 15th Street and continuing on 15th Street up to Glenarm Place. The parade turns right on Glenarm Place and finishes at 14th Street and Glenarm Place.

Road Closures
Street closures for the parade begin this Wednesday, when Bannock Street will close from Colfax to 14th Ave. beginning at 9 a.m. and remain closed through Sunday at 5 p.m.
Drivers may face additional road closures near the parade staging area in the Golden Triangle, Civic Center Park and City and County Building area.
Transit Disruptions
Light rail will be affected an hour prior and during the parade with no service on the D, F, or H lines between the Theatre District/Convention Center and 18th/California stations, and no L Line service between the 16th and Stout and 30th and Downing stations. C, E, and W line service will be available to Union Station as well as service on the University of Colorado A Line, B Line and G Line. Bus service on 15th and 17th streets will also be disrupted.
