Denver SWAT Arrest: Standoff Suspect Called In Fake Carjacking
Nehemiah Garcia, 34, was arrested in northwest Denver after a multi-hour police standoff Tuesday night.

DENVER, CO -- Denver police said a man fleeing police broke into a random home and held cops at a hours-long standoff Tuesday night. SWAT teams and K9 officers swarmed through the neighborhood near 2600 North Federal Boulevard until Nehemiah James Garcia, 34, gave himself up around 10 p.m.
Police said Garcia was being sought for six outstanding warrants from neighboring towns when he was spotted by fugitive unit officers around 4:20 p.m. at a supermarket in the 2600 block of North Federal. Officers tried to take him into custody, but he ran away, an arrest affidavit said.
Garcia ran through alleys and streets and then officers saw him force open the back door of a home in the 2900 block of West 26th Avenue, the report said.
