Here are the top stories today in Denver:
- 8,000 trash collection complaints received in less than 6 weeks. The new plan was supposed to make it better for trash customers. The complaints come on the heels of Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure still trying fill 29 of its 131 driver positions, leavingbehind a real mess. (9News)
- Colorado's homelessness up a whopping 266 percent. Despite more money being spent than ever before, the numbers of those considered chronically homeless, has increased dramatically in Colorado since 2020. (FOX31)
- Second, and sometimes third chances can be a game changer. Wagon Coffee Roasters is all about helping women recovering from addiction and alcoholism – by hiring and training them to help run the company. (Sentinel Colorado)
- Those convicted of DUI could get drivers license reinstated faster. A proposed law winding its way thought the state legislature would allow people to immediately apply for reinstatement of their driver's license. If the law is approved, it would also mandate 90 days of continuous alcohol monitoring after being convicted of a third DUI. (CO Newsline)
- Snow expected later today with extreme temperature drop to follow. A powerful arctic cold front is moving into the area late in the morning or early afternoon. Temperatures will drop 40-60 degrees after a high of 63 on Sunday. (CBS4)
