  1. Car thefts continue to soar across the state. Recent FBI numbers show that Colorado continues to be the top vehicle theft state in the U.S., and Denver has the second highest number of thefts, second only to Bakersfield, CA. Auto thefts have increased 78 percent in Denver compared to last year. (7News)
  2. Nonprofit helps realize the potential of local entrepreneurs. NEWSED has been focused on bringing small businesses and reviving retail areas along Santa Fe Drive and developed the ZONE Marketplace concept, a small business incubator that provides a space for retailers to sell their goods and connect with the community.   3. King Soopers and Albertsons announce plan to merge. Two of the nation's largest grocers have agreed to merge, in a deal they say will help them better compete in the marketplace. The Kroger bid was $20 billion for Albertsons. (9News)
  4. Locally owned liquor stores across the state are worried about November vote. Three propositions on this November's state ballot could rewrite Colorado's liquor laws, and many mom and pop stores are worried that the changes will potentially put them out of business. (5280)
  5. Tom's Diner has been resurrected as Tom's Starlight. The beloved 24-7 diner is gone, but now neighbors are getting reacquainted with the restored building on East Colfax that's officially reopened as a new lounge. (Denverite)
