DENVER, CO – Thunderstorms are predicted, possibly severe, in the Denver area Monday afternoon with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain, the National Weather Service warned.

The Boulder NWS said Monday morning will feature low clouds, drizzle and patchy fog, but thunderstorms and even "weak tornadoes" will break out along the Front Range Monday afternoon and evening.

Severe thunderstorms are expected in metro Denver, including Lakewood, Arvada, Littleton and Golden, according to the NWS. Large hail up to two-inches in diameter, damaging winds and heavy rain are possible, NWS said.
