- Denver officially has a new police chief. On Monday night, Denver City Council approved the appointment of Ron Thomas as the city's new police chief. Thomas will take over the leadership of the Denver Police Department from the retiring chief Paul Pazen, and he faces a city with increasing crime, tensions in communities of color and a depleted police force. - Wheat Ridge police seek stolen vehicle involved in crime spree. Police said thieves caused multiple collisions along Sheridan Boulevard as they tried to escape after stealing a vehicle in Wheat Ridge. The suspects struck a woman after crashing into her car as they continued their escape. (FOX31)
- Main mistakes voters make on their mail-in ballots. Denver Elections offices said that every election voters make some of the same mistakes on their mail in ballots. Here's the list so that you can submit your ballot without making the same mistakes. (9News)
- Colorado students can apply to colleges for free. From Oct. 18-20, application fees are waived to most of the state's colleges and universities as part of the Colorado's Free Application Days program. State officials expect 70,000 students to apply this year during the three-day period, that will wipe away $30-$50 application fees. (Chalkbeat)
