Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- Biggest complaint in Denver Parks? You guessed it, off leash dogs. Denver has a leash law, but dog owners haven't been following it, and the city has been lax in enforcing the rules. (Denverite)
- City of Lakewood loses appeal to block the public from recording police. Turns out that the Appellate Court agrees that citizens have the First Amendment right film to police while they work. This decision comes after man that was filming a traffic stop in Lakewood, had police agent block him from recording the incident. (Midland)
- Frontier may not have the board votes to approve the proposed Spirit Merger. Frontier said that it has already submitted its best and final offer, and likely won't try to scuttle the competing offer that Jet Blue has submitted for the discount airline. (CO Sun)
- This week's weather won't be as hot as this past weekend. Metro Denver weather forecast shows that temperatures will be cooler, with a 90-degree stretch this week. (9News)
- Hundreds of gallons of diesel spilled into Lakewood's Bear Creek. Lakewood police believe that someone intentionally drilled a hole in the truck's diesel tank, causing an enormous diesel spill near West Dartmouth Place. The fuel flowed into a drainage area that leads to Bear Creek. (CDLLife)
