Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- Meet Goathead Greg. He's uprooted over 400 pounds of sticker-filled vine from bike trails around Denver. Nobody likes flat tires and Greg Skomp has taken upon himself to clear the confounded weed from Denver's bike trails, saving hundreds, if not thousands of flat tires. (Denverite)
- Louisville's Red Tail Ridge development hits another snag. Even though it went to a public vote earlier this year, opponents continue to battle the development on the former Storage Tek site in Louisville. This time, the town's planning board voted against the proposed plan for the final plat of the site. (Hometown Weekly)
- CU Denver planning new, five story engineering building on its downtown Auraria campus. The new engineering building first announced in 2021 and is moving forward. Plans have been submitted to the city. When completed, the building on the corner of Larimer Street and Speer Boulevard will provide five stories and 72,000 square feet of space for the university's engineering department. (9News)
- Casa Bonita is paying its employees to learn a new language. While the restaurant has been closed during construction, some employees of the iconic restaurant have been keeping busy learning a new language. (CBS4)
- Colorado's Traction Law is in effect, don't get the $650 ticket. The Traction Law is active between September 1 to May 31, and requires that all vehicles have a minimum tread depth of 3/16 of an inch. The I-70 stretch (between Morrison and Dotsero) is in an 'always activated' state, in hopes of alleviating delays and crashes. (Out There)
