High Wind Warning Issued For Metro Denver, Boulder

The National Weather Service has issued a wind warning for the Front Range.

DENVER, CO — The National Weather Service has issued high wind warning for Denver's metro area and Boulder. The metro Denver warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday, and Boulder's warning will be in effect from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph could hit some Front Range regions, weather officials said.

"Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the weather alert reads. "Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles."

"Strong winds may lead to property damage. Hazardous driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will pose a serious risk for drivers, especially for light weight and high profile vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought inside or secured properly."

The cold front may also produce areas of dust as it rolls southward, weather officials said. Visibility could be reduced to a mile or less at times.
