2-Alarm Junkyard Blaze Burns In Denver
Gapers watching a trash fire near 46th and Ivy slowed I70 rush hour traffic Tuesday.
DENVER, CO -- A large trash blaze at a recycling center in Denver Tuesday afternoon could be seen from Highway 70. Denver Fire Dept. tweeted around 6 p.m. that emergency responders were on the scene of a two-alarm "large fire" at 46th and Ivy. Rubberneckers were slowing rush hour traffic to gape at the fire, reported KOA Jetcopter reporter John Morrissey.
By 6:30 p.m., Denver Fire tweeted that the bulk of fire was extinguished, but crews were working to find "hot spots." There were no injuries reported and no fire exposure to neighboring buildings, they tweeted.
