DENVER, CO — A man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of 40-year-old Ariana Wolk, the Denver District Attorney's Office announced Thursday.
Jose Sandoval-Romero, 24, is accused of stabbing the woman to death July 3.
Denver police officers and paramedics were called to an apartment in the 1500 block of Oneida Street, where they found Wolk "in a pool of blood in her bed having suffered sharp force injuries to her neck," the DA's office said in a news release.

Wolk was pronounced dead and the medical examiner later ruled her death a homicide.
Detectives said they found a video, from the night of Wolk's death, that shows her with Sandoval-Romero. He is seen holding a clear cup with pink liquid, which was later found in her yard, the DA's office said.

The fingerprints from the cup were tied back to Sandoval-Romero, detectives said. He was arrested July 7 in Colorado Springs.
"During his interview with law enforcement, Sandoval-Romero admitted that he had stabbed Ms. Wolk, fled the scene, and discarded his bloody clothes before fleeing to Colorado Springs," the DA's office said.
Sandoval-Romero is scheduled to appear in court Friday morning for his second advisement.
