Martin Luther King Day 'Marade' 2020: Route, Schedule, Events

Coloradans are encouraged to come out and honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy.

DENVER, CO – Monday, Jan. 20 will mark the 34th anniversary in Colorado of the holiday honoring Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. The annual "Marade" – a march and parade – will make its way through Denver streets, rallying support for racial equality in our nation.

The Marade is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Organizers proudly state that the Marade is the only event of its kind in the country.

A program will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Monument in City Park. The annual press conference will begin at 10 a.m.

The Marade will begin at 10:45 a.m. from the 'I Have A Dream' Memorial and head south out of City Park through Esplanade Street to Colfax Avenue, then west along Colfax to Sherman Street into the state capitol grounds, then south to where it ends at Civic Center Park at Broadway.
