Here are the top stories in Denver today:

  1. Some claim that Denver's media outlets are picking losers and winners in 2023 mayor's race. So far, 15 people have filed to run as mayor in the upcoming Denver municipal election in April 2023. One candidate is making claims that the news media isn't treating all of the candidates equally. (Westword)
  2. Alec Garnett, former Colorado House Speaker, will be Gov. Jared Polis' next Chief of Staff. The Outgoing House Speaker will take over the reins from long time Polis aide Lisa Kaufmann who is stepping down from the role but will remain as an advisor to the governor. (CO Newsline)
  3. You can track Colorado's snowplows with this website. This winter you can follow the Colorado Department of Transportation's snowplows as they move around. Launched in 2016, the system provides real-time location information about the activities of the CDOT's snowplow fleet. (FOX 31)
  4. El Pollo Loco triumphantly returns to Colorado with new location in Denver. Pollo Loco's last restaurant in Colorado shut down during the Great Recession in the late 2000s. Known for its tasty L.A. Mex-style food, has plans to open eight more restaurants around the metro area. (9News)
  5. Arctic blast headed this way on Thursday. Tuesday's surprise snow storm was just the beginning of this week's cold weather. Forecasters are calling for brutally cold nights and more snow later in the week (CBS4)
