Merryhill Preschool Presents $760 Donation to Bags of Fun
Students at Merryhill Preschool in Castle Rock presented a check to a representative from the organization to benefit hospitalized children
On Aug. 7, students at Merryhill Preschool in Castle Rock had the opportunity to kiss a real pig at their school in celebration of raising more than $250 for hospitalized children. Students at Merryhill Preschools in Aurora, Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch and Lone Tree, as well as Riverstone Education Preschool in Lone Tree recently participated in penny races to see which school could raise the most money for Bags of Fun, a group dedicated to making children with life-threatening illnesses happy. Together, the schools raised more than $760 in change. Merryhill Preschool in Castle Rock collected the most money out of the five schools, earning students the chance to kiss the pig and present the check to a representative from Bags of Fun. The money raised will allow Bags of Fun to fill personalized bags with toys for hospitalized children. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of helping children in need.
Bags of Fun is a part of the Gabby Krause Foundation, a group working to ensure that children with life-threatening illnesses stay happy and busy during long hospital stays by giving them personalized bags of toys and activities.
