Metro Denver Drivers Urged To Use Caution In Morning Commute
Officials are urging drivers to slow down as slick conditions continue to cause accidents.
DENVER, CO — National Weather Service officials are urging drivers to use caution during their morning commutes. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in place until 8 a.m. Thursday.
Sections of many roadways were temporarily closed overnight due to car accidents.
“Roads may be slick and icy across the Metro area with snow packed conditions on I-70 near Morrison and I-25 over Monument Hill,” the weather alert read. “Travelers are urged to use caution and give yourself extra time this morning.”

Conditions will improve through the morning hours with partly cloudy skies and temperatures staying in the 40s across the plains.
The following areas were listed in the weather advisory: Denver, Boulder, Arvada, Lakewood, Golden, Longmont, Aurora, Brighton, Denver International Airport, Highlands Ranch, Littleton and Parker.

“There will be a warming trend Friday and Saturday, but it will turn colder again on Sunday as a strong cold front moves in from the north,” weather officials said. “Snow will also be likely Sunday through Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will remain cold with a chance of snow as another cold front moves into the region.”
