Here are the top stories in Denver today:
- Attempt to reform Colorado metro districts dies in late-night committee meeting. Developers say buying municipal bonds is an iron-clad way to get new housing built, but the concept has its detractors, and last Friday, the bill died in committee after back and forth amendments. (Gazette)
- Group places signs with victim's names on Denver streets in hopes of saving lives. Denver had 84 traffic-related deaths last year, and this year, it's on pace to potentially exceed that number. Meanwhile, those behind Denver's Vision Zero program, struggle to solve the problem with marketing and clever slogans. (9News)
- Would jail have saved her from fentanyl overdose? A woman at an addiction treatment center relapses and dies of an overdose. Some think the best solution is to sit in jail for a while and sober up. There are no easy answers in the cycle of addiction and mental illness. (CPR)
- What to buy at the grocery store when prices get to high. Inflation is hitting pocket books at every turn. Here's some grocery store alternatives to try out during this round inflationary increases. (FOX31)
- There are 140 bills log jammed at the capitol, as the legislature works to wrap up the 2022 session. Time is running out as state lawmakers try to push as many of the bills through, but some are trying to run out the clock. (CPR)

- Bike To Work Day is shifting gears. If you've made the switch to permanent remote work or work a hybrid schedule, you don't have to bike to a physical worksite to be a part of the big day. Bike down the nearest bike path, around your neighborhood or to run an errand. Don't forget to stop by a station or two on the way! Make the pledge today to be entered to win an electric bicycle. (BTWD)
- Denver doubles it's parking meter revenue after raising parking fees by $1 per hour. The extra revenue generated was supposed to go toward bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, but the question that lingers in my mind is if that will actually happen. (Gazette)
- Denver renters and homeowners: You can get an average of $1,000 back through the Denver Property Tax Relief Program. Open to Denver County renters and homeowners who meet certain qualifications, the program gives those who qualify a partial refund of property taxes they paid.
