- New fund created to support inflow of migrants. The State of Colorado, the City of Denver and the Rose Foundation have teamed up to create a fund that will help support the wave of migrants that have been arriving in Colorado since early December. In addition to the fund being set up, organizers are seeking donations of winter clothing and other necessities for those arriving to the state. (Denverite)
- The South Park guys claim that Casa Bonita is going to reopen next May. It won't be the same old Casa Bonita that Denverites have flocked to for sketchy food, cliff divers and shenanigans in Black Bart's cave. The new, updated version of the iconic Lakewood restaurant is likely to have much more than a fresh coat of paint. (9News)
- Home prices went crazy in Colorado during the pandemic. The housing market was hot during the pandemic. Home prices in Colorado hit record highs in 2021, but despite increases in mortgage rates home prices remain considerably higher than they were in 2019. (Patch)
- A recent study puts Boulder as the top city for green startups. Boulder has invested significantly in fighting climate change and encouraging climate-friendly policies. Plus, the innovations that are pouring out of the University of Colorado, is creating new opportunities for collaboration between industry and academia. (Biz Journal)
- Twitter reportedly owes almost $200K in back rent for its Boulder office space. Bill Reynolds, a Colorado landlord that has leased some 40,000 square feet in Boulder to Twitter, had a message for Elon Musk, the new owner of the social media company: "If you don't pay, you don't stay."
