- Southwest Airlines cancels more Denver flights on Wednesday. The discount airline has cancelled more than 300 flights for Wednesday in Denver, and officials from the beleaguered company say more flights will be cancelled over the next few days. The cancellations are in place in hopes of rebalancing their system and to get the air carrier's operations back to normal. In the meantime, thousands of travelers have been stranded in Denver, and many have no way to retrieve their checked baggage. (CPR)
- Looming deadline for thousands of Denver rental properties that are required to be licensed beginning Jan. 1. In less than a week, landlords that rent multiple units are required to have a license for their rental units. For single-unit rental properties, the deadline to get licensed is Jan. 1, 2024. The process includes an inspection by a licensed and approved inspector. (9News)
- There are almost 80 candidates vying for 16 available seats in Denver's 2023 municipal election in April. Candidates are running for all 13 Denver City Council seats, the Mayor's office, the Auditor, as well as the Clerk and Recorder in the upcoming election in April. Ballots are expected to in the mail by mid-March. (Denverite)
- What's the big deal about the atmospheric river? Big snowfalls are expected in the west as the weather pattern that's referred to as an atmospheric river. This atmospheric river is essentially a conveyor belt of moisture that's pulled into the air from the Pacific Ocean and transported by the jet stream, and then eventually becomes snow in the mountains.
