Emergency Fund for Vine Street Pub & Mountain Sun Employees

For over 20 years, Kevin Daly and his unusually loyal and growing cadre of brewery staff have been serving great beer and good eats to Front Range denizens, first at the Boulder's Mountain Sun on Pearl Street, the Southern Sun in south Boulder, and ultimately to locations Longmont and Denver.

No, this is not the story of a successful chain. This is the story of an amazingly committed local entrepreneur who believes more in building community than he does in building an empire, more in empowering his employees than enriching himself. That is not to say that Kevin hasn't been successful, because he most certainly has.

But as a member of his community and a patron for nearly two decades, I've observed how phenomenally low the staff turnover rate is at the Mountain Sun locations. I've observed how the staff almost uniformly interact with each other as loving siblings. Recently, I've observed how Kevin has gone the extra mile for his employees, providing them daily meals as his breweries have shifted to take out only and how he's facilitated an emergency fund to help those laid off limp along.

Yesterday, I was saddened, though not surprised, to read that Kevin had made the painful decision to shutter all locations until this storm has passed. Thankfully, Kevin set up a GoFundMe fundraiser to help bolster the Emergency Fund.

So, I'd like to enthusiastically ask all of you who have enjoyed good beer and good company at one of the Mountain Sun locations over the years to consider donating whatever you can, right now, to help the Mountain Sun staff weather this storm.
