Good morning, everybody! I'm back with your new copy of the Denver Daily. Come along for the most important things going on in town, including updates on...

  • Is the Denver mayor's seat the most powerful political position in Colorado?
  • Lockheed Martin's Colorado employees celebrate the return of NASA's Orion space craft.
  • Jury rules in favor of Leprino Foods' billionaire and his two daughters.

Tuesday's weather: A little snow; much colder. High: 31 Low: 22.

Here are the top stories today in Denver:

  1. Is the Denver's mayor seat the most powerful political seat in the state? It's considered one of the top political positions in the state for a variety of reasons, one being that it's a "strong" mayor form of government and it's also one the highest paying positions, too. Maybe that's why there's 24 candidates vying for the position? (Denverite)
  2. Colorado Supreme Court to hear arguments about who can access the state's rivers. The case pits a fly fisherman against two landowners that refused him to access to fish on a segment of the Arkansas River. The outcome could alter what has been settled law since Colorado became a state. (FOX31)
  3. Lockheed Martin employees celebrate the return of NASA's Orion. Almost 600 Colorado Lockheed Martin employees in Colorado that worked on the Orion space program, watched as the mission's space craft returned to earth. (CPR)
  4. Family feud exposed in case that ends with jury siding with billionaire CEO. A family dispute boiled over into the public as two heirs had sued the cheese making company claiming they were cheated out of $900 million. A Denver jury ruled that the company didn't breach their fiduciary duty or wrongfully withhold information. (NCCAR)
  5. People are moving away from metro Denver in droves and guess where they're going? After record migration into Denver over the past 10 years, the tide is shifting, and many are leaving Denver and headed out of state. A recent study by Redfin shows that the majority of those that are packing up and leaving Colorado are headed to this Midwest city. (KBCO)
