See Adorable Colorado Elk Dance Like No One’s Watching
"Enjoying all the rain? Because this elk sure is."
DENVER, CO — Sometimes you just need to watch the local wildlife to get back to your happy place. This puddle-jumping elk caught on camera by officials with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife is enjoying the spoils of the recent heavy rains while quickly becoming a social media celebrity.
The young elk prances, dances and hops in circles in the large puddles like the Tom Cruise in “Risky Business” of the animal world while the other elk calmly graze on the golf course nearby. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife shared the fun video via Twitter and it has been retweeted almost 200 times, liked by 342 people and picked up by local television news stations since it was posted on May 23.
Parts of Colorado have been hammered with hail, snow and rain during the month of May, according to the National Weather Service. The wildlife seems to be taking the wild weather in stride.
