Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Denver County
"Take shelter inside a sturdy building. A shed or structure in an open area is more likely to be hit by lightning," the NWS warned.
DENVER, CO — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm alert for the County of Denver. Quarter-size hail and intense wind gusts have hit some parts of the county. The alert has been issued until 3 p.m.
At 2:11 p.m., a severe thunderstorm hit Greenwood Village, nine miles southeast of Denver, officials said. The storm was moving east at 10 miles per hour.
"Take shelter inside a sturdy building. A shed or structure in an open area is more likely to be hit by lightning," the NWS warned in the alert. "Expect damage to roofs, siding and trees. Hail damage to vehicles is expected."

Locations most-heavily impacted include southeastern Denver, Aurora, Centennial, Greenwood Village and Arapahoe Park.
