Good morning, neighbors! It's me again, Brad K. Evans, your host of the Denver Daily.

Monday today's weather: Colder with snow, 3-6 in. High: 39 Low: 24.

Here are the top five stories today in Denver:

  1. Denver continues its efforts to create more affordable housing. Finding anything that's considered affordable is nearly impossible if someone is on a limited income or fixed income in Denver. The city's housing authority is doing everything it can to build as many units as possible, but is it enough? (CBS4)
  2. Boulder set to celebrate painful anniversary. It's been a year since the tragic shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers, and there's still more questions than answers about why it happened in the first place. (CPR)
  3. GrowHaus providing services in Denver's oldest food desert. There's no grocery store in the The Globeville and Elyria Swansea (GES) neighborhood, which has left some residents without easy access to fresh food. (9News)
  4. The RVs and the trash situation in Denver continues to grow. The City of Denver is working on the Safe Parking Program, and is seeking proposals from the community to operate a temporary site that would allow RVs to safely park and connect those living in the campers with service providers. (7News)
  5. The COVID-19 variant has been detected in Denver's wastewater system. The Denver Department of Public Health and Environment says they've detected the stealth omicron COVID-19 variant in both wastewater and humans. (CBS4)
