Here are the top stories today in Denver:

  1. Fixing Denver's sidewalks going to a vote. A new initiative will be on ballot this November, with the aim to repair Denver's shoddy sidewalks. If passed, it could raise hundreds of millions of dollars to build and repair sidewalks across the entire city, with every property owners paying significant fees each year into the fund. (Denverite)
  2. Another Colorado Starbucks votes to unionize. A Colorado Springs Starbucks has voted to unionize. This comes at the same time as a workers at a Denver store are claiming that the company has fired workers for joining the union. (CPR)
  3. Denver becoming a travel-tech hub. Start ups are flocking to Denver as they escape cities like San Francisco, to build clusters of tech speciality companies. (Skift)
  4. Denver Airport says security lines will be long this summer. If you're planning to travel this summer, be prepared for long security lines. (CBS 4)
  5. Even area food banks and pantries are feeling the impacts of inflation. Food Bank of the Rockies is spending more than $1.3 million on food each month. That's triple what it spent in 2019. (5280)
