Marketing campaigns run with efficiency in mind are often very driven by the performance - this can be through how many leads an agency receives because of a campaign or if online the number impressions a campaign may receive in the shortest amount of time. However, due to the focus
on making the process of gaining as fast and efficient as possible, less time is put on ensuring that they are the correct leads that are likely to yield positive results in the long term. As a result, brands with a bigger focus on efficiency find slower profit growth in the long term.

Effectiveness, on the other hand, provides brands with a far more measured approach. Businesses and brands can make some of the best and most effective campaigns through taking time to craft their strategy and target potential leads with tailored messaging. This may not result in immediate results for marketing beyond a few strong leads, but in the long term, the formation of these relationships will convert into meaningful profits for the brand.

A focus of effectiveness also goes beyond profits and will also help to improve brand awareness amongst clients and the industry.

For most brands in 2019, an effective marketing campaign is a far better option. Evidence from a variety of campaigns highlights how effectiveness secures success through a more thorough, targeted effective marketing approach.

Conversely, an efficient approach whilst able to generate significant profits in the short term will always have to be waiting for the sharp drop in leads signifying the short-lived benefits of this form of marketing.
