More snow is expected to fall in many northern Colorado regions Sunday and Monday, and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the central mountains until Sunday at midnight. Snow is expected to "snarl ski country traffic," the National Weather Service said.

"Drivers must be prepared for extended closures, extreme weather and heavy traffic on I-70, U.S. 285 and other mountain routes" on Sunday, state transportation officials warned in a public announcement.

An avalanche warning has also been issued for the Front Range, Vail and Summit County, Aspen, Steamboat and Flat Tops, and other Colorado mountain regions. View a complete avalanche map here. On Saturday, the avalanche warning was classified as "high" for ski country, however that has since changed to "considerable."
